La Fiesta 2023 - Whanganui

Introduction

As part of La Fiesta 2023, two Whanganui groups connected with grief, will combine to host two public events on Grieving. The events are

  • GOOD MOURNING
    Friday 17th February 10am – 12 noon
    At Women’s Network Rooms - Gold Coin Donation

  • GOOD MOURNING this evening
    Wednesday 1st March 7pm – 9pm
    At Women’s Network Rooms Gold Coin Donation

These meetings are open to anyone, men & women experiencing Grief or wanting to find out more. The meetings will cover:

  • Information,
  • strategies for coping,
  • resources,
  • visual displays,
  • memory crafts to create.
  • Memorial candle lighting.
All questions are welcome. This will be a casual friendly gathering with light refreshments served.

Who are we

The Compassionate Friends

A Whanganui group of bereaved parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters who have experienced the  devastation of the death of a child : At any age – babe to adult : from any cause – birth, illness, accident, suicide, murder: At any time – recently or years ago.

We offer understanding, information and a listening ear. We need not walk alone.

Surviving Grief

Surviving Grief is a Whanganui Loss and Grief Education Programme which explores the effects of change, loss and grief and provides support through bereavement.
