Mother's Day

Sunday 7th May 2023 is designated as International Bereaved Mother’s Day always one week before Mother’s Day.

Mother’s Day is seen as a time for celebration as it should be, when children show their love and thanks for all their mum does for them. However, this can be a difficult time for a mother whose child has died.

Do they really want two Mother’s Days to go through? They grieve every day. They may still spend Mother’s Day with their own Mother and with their other children while still feeling the pain of the child who is no longer there. Some will face the day alone as their only child has died.

Remember the Bereaved Mother. Contact her: chat, laugh, cry, listen, talk about her child and say her child’s name.
